Welcome to Mater Dei Kindergarten ~ K2

Look at What We Are Learning: January 21st Week

Religion: The children will learn that God the Father gave us the greatest gift of all, his Son, Jesus.

Math:  We start chapter 8, Position and Location.

E.LA: .  We will segment words into syllables.  We will identify and blend sounds in words. We  will learn the letter "Hh". We will learn the high frequency word, "my." .  We will read  "My Garden",  " Growing Plants", and "Hop Can Hop."

Social Studies/ Science: We will learn about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and work on our habitats.

Thursday: Art/Computers
Friday: Music

~Activities will include STREAM Learning (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Math), Summer Reading, music, arts & crafts, sports, and service learning projects 

~Each week, campers will travel and explore a different country to learn about their saints, customs, culture, and language

The five countries are United States, Italy, Malawi, Colombia, and Japan

Welcome to K2! My name is Mrs. Susan Fry, and I am thrilled to be your child's Kindergarten teacher at Mater Dei Catholic School. I am a graduate from Cabrini College where I received a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I also have a Master's Degree in Educational Technology. I taught eight years at Saint Mary's School in Schwenskville as a Kindergarten teacher. I have been teaching Kindergarten at Mater Dei for five  years. I have three children that keep my husband and me busy. My oldest son, Brendan is a junior at La Salle College High School. Aidan is starting his freshman year at La Salle College High School. Caitlin is in sixth grade at Mater Dei. I am very happy to be teaching at Mater Dei. I'm looking forward to a fantastic year! It will be a fun and exciting experience for your child.
