Learning Resource Program

The Mater Dei Catholic Learning Resource Program is a faith-centered academic support program designed to help students in Grades 1–8 grow in confidence, independence, and success. Rooted in our mission to celebrate the unique gifts and needs of each learner, the program provides targeted support.

Students receive individualized instruction in English Language Arts and Mathematics through a blended push-in and pull-out model, allowing support to take place both within the classroom and in small-group settings. The program includes three dedicated Learning Resource Rooms serving Grades 1–2, Grades 3–4, and Grades 5–8. Each room is staffed by a certified teacher and instructional aide, providing opportunities for small-group and one-on-one instruction tailored to student needs.

Learning Resource teachers work closely with classroom teachers to review student progress, coordinate instruction, and design appropriate supports for both content delivery and assessment, as well as extra social and emotional support to help a student find more success in a classroom setting. This high level of collaboration ensures that students receive consistent, aligned instruction across all learning environments.

Ongoing communication with parents is an essential part of the program. Through this partnership, teachers and families work together to support each child’s growth, ensuring that strategies, expectations, and progress are clearly understood and reinforced at home and at school.

In addition, the Accommodation Program supports individual student needs across classrooms. A Student Review Team collaborates with parents to develop and monitor plans that provide continuity and consistency as students progress through grade levels. At Mater Dei Catholic, the Learning Resource Program reflects our commitment to helping every student reach their God-given potential within a supportive, faith-filled community.
