ABOUT ME

Hello Junior High Students and Families!
I look forward to a year filled with learning, spiritual and educational growth, and joy with you.  This school year marks my 15th year as a teacher.  This is my 8th year teaching at Mater Dei.  I graduated from Chestnut Hill College with a B.A. in History, a certification in Secondary Education, and a minor in Spanish.  I then went on to complete my Masters Degree in Special Education.  When I began teaching, I returned to my home parish in Philadelphia and taught at St. Anne's for four years.  I have also taught for Catapult Learning and at Our Lady of Grace.  I have experience teaching 6th to 8th grade across different subjects.  This year, I will be teaching 7th and 8th Grade Social Srtudies and 7th Grade Religion.  My greatest accomplishments are my three daughters: Emma, Abigail, and Clara.  I love being their Mom.  I am very excited for this school year!

"Peace is Built in the Heart"

Pope Leo XIV’s words remind us of a powerful truth: peace doesn’t start in the world around us—it begins within each of us. It is shaped by love, nourished by prayer, and strengthened by our desire to live as Jesus taught.

At Mater Dei Catholic School, we embrace this call to be peacemakers. Pope Leo’s message speaks to everyone, but especially to our children, who are growing into the people God created them to be. When peace lives in our hearts, it flows into our words, our choices, and our relationships.

When every heart becomes a home for peace, then our school, our homes, and our entire community can become places of kindness, forgiveness, justice, and joy. Pope Leo is calling us to be different—to build peace through the way we live, speak, and treat one another each day.

This year, let us journey together as builders of peace—rooted in God’s love, guided by His truth, and strengthened by His mercy.
