Classroom 3B

Hello parents,

I hope you are all doing well. I know this is a difficult time for everyone, and I truly appreciate your patience and support. There are going to be some growing pains along the way, and I will try to make adjustments as quickly as possible. Each day by 9:00am I will post on my website instructions and links for the day's lessons. These daily lessons can be found in the E-Learning folder. For the most part, assignments are due by 8pm the same day. However, I know that some activities may take a little longer and/or there may be technological difficulties. Daily instruction and/or activities will include; religion, math, reading and special. Science and social studies lessons will rotate days. The main websites that will be used are Seesaw, Google Classroom and Wonders. Lessons on Seesaw  are assigned to folders with the assignment date.  I have also found some other great resources and will send you out additional information in the near future. Each day I will have an "Office Hour" from 10:00am -11:00am. During this time I am available for questions and assistance. However, if something comes up throughout the day, I will get back to you as soon as possible. Our first day of instruction is Wednesday March 18th. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. We are all in this together!

Wishing you all good health!
Kerri Schlegel

Homework will be given Monday through Thursday. Homework is essential to reinforce classroom instruction. Homework is also beneficial because it helps to develop good work habits, responsibility, self-direction, and organizational skills. In addition to written homework, the students are required to read 45 minutes a week. As you read with your child, attached is a list of questions you can ask them about the story. The goal is to get your child thinking beyond the text.

Kerri Schlegel

Welcome to room 3B! My name is Mrs. Kerri Schlegel and I am excited to be teaching 3rd grade again this year at Mater Dei Catholic School.  I graduated from Gwynedd Mercy University with my Masters in Special Education and my Elementary Teacher Certification. I have previously taught reading intervention, kindergarten and first grade. When I am not in school, I like to read books, play sports and spend time with my family. My husband and I have two daughters Alexa and Avari. Our favorite place to be in the summer is the shore. Some of our best summer memories are riding waves and building sand castles on the beach.  Third grade is a great place to learn and have fun!
