Mrs. Kelly Mazeroski

Hello! I am Mrs. Kelly Mazeroski, or “Mrs. Maz” for short, and am thrilled to join the Mater Dei faculty as the teacher for Imagination Playhouse. This new class in our Early Childhood Program provides a two morning a week experience for 2 ½ and 3-year olds. I bring my teaching background as well as my experience as a stay at home mom to this program. I am a graduate of West Chester University and received my Masters in Education at Holy Family University. Before having my own children, I taught both fourth and fifth grade for seven years in the Central Bucks School District. I resigned from that position after my first son was born and have since been at home with our four children, who now all attend Mater Dei. During this time at home, the “teacher” in me always came out, and I have enjoyed volunteering at Bible School as well as leading the Mom and Tots group at Saint Maria Goretti. I have also had the privilege of getting to know Mater Dei through a parent’s eyes, volunteering in the lunch program and as homeroom mom. I am now looking forward to playing, singing, dancing, creating, reading, and pretending with our youngest Mater Dei students as they begin their learning adventure at this very special school!

We have been busy little elves at Imagination Playhouse!  We painted presents using gift bows last week and have been having lots of fun with our child friendly nativity sets during playtime.  Nativity sets are a great way to introduce the Christmas story to this age and the children love looking at and carrying around Baby Jesus!  This week, we will continue to practice our songs we will sing at our Happy Birthday Jesus Party.  Our favorite one is entitled, "Oh What a Special Night" and it is one of the first ones to pop up on You Tube.  Check it out if you would like and see what motions your child remembers!  Look below for some upcoming dates and have a wonderful week!

Mater Dei Christmas Pageant:  Tuesday, Dec. 11th  2PM and 7PM  (St. Stan's Church)

The entire Mater Dei community is welcome to watch our 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 8th graders perform in our Christmas Pageant, depicting the story of Jesus' birth.

Happy Birthday Jesus Party:  Dec. 20th

Our "Happy Birthday Jesus" party will take place Thursday, December 20th- our last day before Christmas.  The children will be dropped off regular time for some fun party games all celebrating Baby Jesus.  We will even sing Happy Birthday and enjoy a cupcake treat as a class.  Then at 11 AM, parents and/or grandparents/caregivers are welcome to stop in for our last part of the day.  Please park in the parking spots closest to our classroom door.  We will open the door at 11 AM.  The children will show you our circle time routine for you and sing some Christmas songs.   Please dress your child in red/green.  A letter went home last week providing more details.

Welcome Packet

Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning.  But for children play is serious learning.  Play is really the work of childhood.
