ABOUT ME

Welcome to 8B! My name is Julia Giorgio and I am so excited to be joining the wonderful 7th and 8th grade team this year! I joined the Mater Dei family 3 years ago as a PreK 4 teacher, before moving to 5th grade. Before coming to Mater Dei, I taught 1st grade at St. Pius X in Broomall. I graduated from Immaculata University in May of 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a minor in Theology. Catholic education has always been an integral part of my life, as I am a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy and Lansdale Catholic. I am so grateful to continue to be a part of Catholic education as a teacher and pass on the gifts that it has given me. My goal is to build a community in my classroom that is centered on faith and fosters confidence, growth, leadership, and an appreciation for learning. I am looking forward to an amazing year in 8th grade!

"Peace is Built in the Heart"

Pope Leo XIV’s words remind us of a powerful truth: peace doesn’t start in the world around us—it begins within each of us. It is shaped by love, nourished by prayer, and strengthened by our desire to live as Jesus taught.

At Mater Dei Catholic School, we embrace this call to be peacemakers. Pope Leo’s message speaks to everyone, but especially to our children, who are growing into the people God created them to be. When peace lives in our hearts, it flows into our words, our choices, and our relationships.

When every heart becomes a home for peace, then our school, our homes, and our entire community can become places of kindness, forgiveness, justice, and joy. Pope Leo is calling us to be different—to build peace through the way we live, speak, and treat one another each day.

This year, let us journey together as builders of peace—rooted in God’s love, guided by His truth, and strengthened by His mercy.
