ABOUT ME
Welcome to 5B! My name is Julia Giorgio and I am so excited to be entering my second year of teaching 5th grade! I joined the Mater Dei family 2 years ago as a PreK 4 teacher. I previously taught 1st grade at St. Pius X in Broomall. I graduated from Immaculata University in May of 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a concentration in PreK to grade 4 and Special Education K to grade 8 and a minor in Theology. Catholic education is very important to me as I have attended Catholic grade school (Our Lady of Mercy), high school (Lansdale Catholic), and college. I am so grateful to continue to be a part of Catholic education as a teacher. My goal is to provide a positive learning experience for each of my students, as well as create an engaging and inviting classroom atmosphere. I enjoy being creative and integrating lots of fun activities into the classroom. I live in Montgomeryville, and in my free time I like to spend time with family and friends, bake, take walks, and complete DIY projects!
Mater Dei Catholic School
"Love in Action is Service"
Saint Teresa of Calcutta, known as “Mother Teresa,” was an Albanian-born Indian Roman Catholic missionary and nun who devoted her life to helping those most in need. She founded the Missionaries of Charity in India in 1950, and for over 45 years, she ministered to the poor, sick, orphaned, and dying. Mother Teresa served those who were most vulnerable and made many sacrifices to help others. She devoted her life to serving those in need without judgment.
Saint Teresa of Calcutta once said, “Love in Action is Service.” The Mater Dei Catholic School community will embrace Mother Teresa’s philosophy throughout the 2024 -2025 school year. We will learn more about Mother Teresa’s service to God’s people and strive to follow her example by serving others both within and outside of our school community. By focusing on creating a sense of belonging for all members of the Mater Dei community, we will mirror our hallmarks of Faith, Excellence, Service, and Community.
