ABOUT ME

Hello!  My name is Mrs. Emily Keyser.  I have been blessed with the gift of Catholic education, as I am a product of the Philadelphia Archdiocesan Catholic School System.  I graduated from St. Stanislaus School and then continued my Catholic education at Lansdale Catholic High School.  I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Gwynedd-Mercy College.  I truly value the gift of Catholic education and will be forever grateful to my parents for the sacrifices they made in order to send my sisters, brother, and me to Catholic school.  I am excited to have the opportunity to teach at Mater Dei Catholic!  I have been up and down the grade level ladder.  I taught kindergarten for half a year, second grade for nine years, and fourth grade for seven years.  I taught sixth grade Social Studies and ELA, along with eighth grade Religion for one year.  This year will be my fifteenth year in first grade.  Each grade level has been a rewarding experience, offering new and exciting challenges.  I strive to provide a faith-filled atmosphere that allows opportunities for my students to think critically, solve problems, and to communicate and collaborate effectively.  I am proud to be teaching the children of the 21st Century with the educational technology provided to help make learning fun and engaging.

"Peace is Built in the Heart"

Pope Leo XIV’s words remind us of a powerful truth: peace doesn’t start in the world around us—it begins within each of us. It is shaped by love, nourished by prayer, and strengthened by our desire to live as Jesus taught.

At Mater Dei Catholic School, we embrace this call to be peacemakers. Pope Leo’s message speaks to everyone, but especially to our children, who are growing into the people God created them to be. When peace lives in our hearts, it flows into our words, our choices, and our relationships.

When every heart becomes a home for peace, then our school, our homes, and our entire community can become places of kindness, forgiveness, justice, and joy. Pope Leo is calling us to be different—to build peace through the way we live, speak, and treat one another each day.

This year, let us journey together as builders of peace—rooted in God’s love, guided by His truth, and strengthened by His mercy.
