ABOUT ME
I am very excited to be teaching First Grade again at Mater Dei Catholic School! This is my twenty-second year of teaching full-time in The Archdiocese of Philadelphia. I taught Second Grade for five years, Third Grade for two years, and this will be my fifteenth year in First Grade. I stopped teaching after my first five years to spend time with my family, and then I began substituting at St. Catherine of Siena when my youngest son began Kindergarten there. I have three sons. Matthew is 25 and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2021. He now lives and works in Boston. Jack is 25 and graduated from Penn State University in 2022. He is also living and working in Boston. Brady is 23 and graduated from Penn State University in 2024. He works in Plymouth Meeting and lives at home. I also have 2 dogs, Cooper and Ela. We are members of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Horsham. I am looking forward to a great year in 1B!

"Peace is Built in the Heart"
Pope Leo XIV’s words remind us of a powerful truth: peace doesn’t start in the world around us—it begins within each of us. It is shaped by love, nourished by prayer, and strengthened by our desire to live as Jesus taught.
At Mater Dei Catholic School, we embrace this call to be peacemakers. Pope Leo’s message speaks to everyone, but especially to our children, who are growing into the people God created them to be. When peace lives in our hearts, it flows into our words, our choices, and our relationships.
When every heart becomes a home for peace, then our school, our homes, and our entire community can become places of kindness, forgiveness, justice, and joy. Pope Leo is calling us to be different—to build peace through the way we live, speak, and treat one another each day.
This year, let us journey together as builders of peace—rooted in God’s love, guided by His truth, and strengthened by His mercy.
