Mrs. Amanda Sitoski

Welcome to PreK4! My name is Amanda Sitoski and I am the PK4B teacher. I graduated from Bloomsburg University in 2002 with my degree in Elementary Education. I spent three great years teaching fourth grade at St Anne School in Bethlehem. My husband's job brought us to the Philadelphia area where I worked in Kindergarten and PreK for several years. After taking some time off with my kids, I was blessed to find Mater Dei!  This is my fourth year at our great school! I live with my family in North Wales. My daughter Lily is 11 and my son Thomas is 9.   We enjoy camping, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. I can't wait to help your child learn and grow on the path to Kindergarten readiness!

The purpose of our program is to provide a positive early education experience for your children.  The program offers each child activities which address his/her total needs: physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual.  Our commitment is to bring Jesus to the minds and hearts of the children entrusted to our care.  We will strive to provide a loving and safe environment that encourages socialization, creativity, and experimentation.  A "hands on" approach to learning is stressed.

***Since winter is quickly approaching, here is our inclement weather information:  If there is a 2 hour delay, school will open at 10:10.  Half day students are welcome to join us, however they will still dismiss at 12:15.  CARES will open at 8:00am.***

This week we will learn that the true meaning of Christmas is Jesus's Birthday. We will retell the story of Jesus's birth and how important it is to not only get our houses, but also our hearts ready for Christmas. Our literacy theme this week is called "Seasons Change." We will learn about the different types of weather we see and the different activities we can do in each season. We will meet Ms. W.  Ms. W loves words, especially weather words.

I hope the children were excited to talk about our shepherd!  Each student thought of a name for him, I wrote it on a slip of paper, put them in a jar, and then I picked one -- it's Jeremiah!  He hides all around the classroom and then we find him in the morning.  We bring him to his special spot at the advent wreath where he watches for us to be kind, respectful, and friendly.  Ask your child where he was hiding each day this week!

On Tuesday, December 11, the full day children will be going over to church at 2:00pm to see the Christmas Pageant performed by our eighth grade students. It a great way to understand the true meaning of Christmas.

Don't forget Wednesday is Pajama Day. Children come to school in their pajamas and sneakers. They may bring a stuffed animal with them to watch the movie. No need to pack a snack, the children will have cookies and hot chocolate!!!

Have a great week!
