Miss Kate Mitchell
Classroom Pre-K 3A

Welcome to the Mater Dei Preschool Program! The purpose of our program is to provide a positive early educational experience for your child. The program offers each child activities which address his/her total needs: physical, emotional intellectual, and spiritual. Our commitment is to bring Jesus to the hearts of the children entrusted in our care. We will strive to provide a loving and safe environment that encourages socialization, creativity, experimentation, and 21st century learning. A "hands on" approach to learning is stressed.

Important Dates:

  • 3/18: eLearning begins!

  • Hello to all my PreK 3A students!
I wanted to officially welcome you to PreK 3A’s eLearning Program! Although these have been a crazy few days, I’m excited to embark on this new path of learning with our class. Our eLearning program will go live at 9:00am on Wednesday, March 18th.
Every morning at 9:00 AM, we will have a morning prayer that the administration will prepare and share with our Mater Dei community.
Our daily eLearning Plan will be posted on my teacher website every morning by 9:00am. Each post will only be one days worth of work, covering ELA, Math, Religion, and those days designated special (Spanish, Music, or Gym). This work should only take an hour daily to complete. The work being provided is not busy work or review, but a continuation of where we left off on Thursday with our themes. (We have decided that since we have only 5 letters left to learn, we will continue with letters when we come back to school.) If you have any questions or need help navigating the material, please do not hesitate to reach out. I will also be holding office hours from 11am-12pm daily. During this time I will be readily available to answer any questions or concerns that might arise. If you reach out to me outside of my office hour, I will do my best to respond ASAP.
I want to thank all of the parents for your amazing commitment to your child’s education and the lengths you go to provide a positive learning environment. Again, I am here for whatever you may need, so please feel free to reach out.
    Thank you for your time!

  • We are excited to announce Mater Dei's Summer Camp program: Adventure Awaits! Each week campers will explore a different country to learn about their saints, customs, culture, and language. This five week camp will be filled with fun STEAM activities for all ages to enjoy! Please click here for all of the information!

  • Please be sure that your child is wearing sneakers to school each day, especially now with the weather getting warmer. The children can easily slip on the equipment when they are wearing boots, dress shoes, etc... therefore when they do not wear sneakers, we cannot allow them to climb. Thank you for your cooperation!
  • Please be sure that you are dropping your 3 year old off in the right car line. We have several 3 year old students being dropped off in the front of the building. The 3's drop off is in the back parking lot. Please pull in off of 3rd street and drive up to the building. Older siblings can be dropped off at the same location. Thank you!
  • My classroom aides are Mrs. Malcolm (MWF all day) Mrs. Wishnov (T/Th mornings) and Mr. Jack (T/Th afternoons)

Hello! My name is Miss Mitchell, and I am the Pre-K teacher for the full time three-year-old class. I began working daily with children during the fall of 2004, and absolutely loved every moment. It was then that I knew that I was meant to be in the classroom. I graduated from West Chester University in May of 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and began substitute teaching for both North Penn and Central Bucks School Districts. I have been teaching for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia since the Fall of 2010. I look forward to creating a wonderful environment for the growing minds of your children!
